Post Production

The Soundtrack

To showcase the various sequences within the project a suitable soundtrack was needed to bind the pieces together.

At first the soundtrack was to be created especially for the animation, but this was deemed unreasonable within the timeframe, so a number of professional tracks were auditioned for the part.

After listening to many tracks the decision was down to two, ‘The Tempest’ from the movie ‘The Insider’ written and performed by Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke, and ‘Natya Sastra’ (Dramatic Science) from the Channel 4 series ‘Lonely Planet’. After some test compositions were created for each soundtrack it was decided that ‘Natya Sastra’ was right for this animated sequence.

The track needed some editing before it could be used so this was accomplished using Sonic Foundry’s Sound Forge software.

Editing in Premiere

From the start of the project it had been decided that the whole animation was to be created in a 16:9 widescreen format as this creates more of a cinematic feel. The project was then assembled within Premiere with these settings.
